Annapolis Boat Show a Success for Outremer Catamarans
The Annapolis boat show was a success for Outremer Yachting with hundreds of people boarding the Outremer 5X and getting to know the Outremer philosophy of building quality blue water catamarans which are fast, simple, and seaworthy - a brand who's philosophy is well known in Europe with it's fair share of hard-core fans.
Just Catamarans sold the last remaining slot for a 2015 Outremer 51 to a client from Colorado ready to begin a change of pace from the work field and travel with the freedom of the wind.
Orders for 2016 Outremer 51 and Outremer 45 are now being filled also due to the success of the Cannes boat show in France a few weeks ago with 3 orders for the Outremer 45 filled and one for the Outremer 51.
Boat show season is in full swing with next show being in Barcelona, Spain to display the Outremer 51 "Zeus" from Wednesday October 15th -October 19th.
Next show in the USA will be the Miami International Boat Show at Strictly Sail in Bayside's MiaMarina in Miami, FL where Just Catamarans and Outremer Yachting will host an Outremer 51 and possibly the new Outremer 45.
I am making the arrangements in Miami so if you want to know what exactly is happening your best bet is to contact me ;)
See you there!

I have personally taken the video for this Lagoon 560 catamaran and she is beautiful. New she was $1.6M and now you can have her for less than base price for a new Lagoon 560. This is a super value and a great opportunity I had to share...

Captain Update on Catana 582 Catamaran for Sale
Owner's version Catana 582 MARIAH is the LOWEST PRICED Catana 582 catamaran for sale on the market. She is priced to sell quickly but sometimes lowering the price too far has people wondering about the current condition. The old "if it sounds too good to be true" saying comes in to play around in people's minds.
The previous Captain and crew called me on Thursday wanting a peek at MARIAH while they were in town and here is their feedback. (See Video Above)
Below is a link to more details on the boat.

Lagoon 420 Features Walkthrough
Why? Simply put, Interior Space.
I've made my 1st ever talkie movie! It was tougher than you think! But I hope you enjoy it and this vessel. The second owner of this Lagoon 420 really upgraded her well and her current owner lives in Texas and uses her part-time to and from the Bahamas and the Florida Keys. He and his family love it but are finding less time to be able to use.
So instead of letting this cruising catamaran become bored of dock life, they are placing her up for sale during the beginning of peak catamaran sales season (October - February).
This sailing catamaran has much to offer and has the Upgraded 75HP Yanmars, along with many other upgrades, that make her a great catamaran to make your next waterfront home.
I apologize in advance for the mixed audio, but until I get better at the "talkies", you'll have to bear with me or come visit in person during our Friday Catwalks! ;)
I hope you enjoy the video. If you'd like more info please visit

Abandoning Aeroyacht 42 BE GOOD TOO: The Builder Responds
During the time of the Aeroyacht 42 hull#1 being abandoned on her maiden voyage, I was REALLY BUSY but meant to post something about it. After a while I felt bad doing so, but with this resurgence of topic from SAIL magazine I am pleased to update those who do not already know of this delivery gone bad. Take a read. If you have any questions please feel free to post as I am pretty familiar with both the topic and the builder ... ABANDONING BE GOOD TOO: The Builder Responds

Lagoon 500 ONE WORLD Abandoned off Sunshine Coast of Australia
The Latest blog post from ONE WORLD was from 6 months ago where they wrote about having her hauled out in NZ and placing her up for sale, "The final passage aboard One World was bittersweet. Within 36 hours of arrival, I watched as a large crane plucked One World from the river and placed her on solid ground for the first time since leaving Florida in December of 2011. The end has come. Our family adventure aboard One World is complete. Tears came to my eyes as I said goodbye to my crew and the boat. The memories will last a lifetime."
Peter Hall of The Courier Mail reported the story yesterday, stating the skipper said he had no option but to abandon ship:
United States mariner Wesley Garner and his crew of three males and one female were brought ashore at Mooloolaba after their harrowing night.

Artemis Racing Signs Vincent Lauriot-Prévost of VPLP
Hey now! You all know VPLP, the famous design team for used for Lagoons and the Outremer 5X, among being crème de la crème of multihull designers for some time now. Well Artemis Racing has stepped up their design team with the addition of Vincent Lauriot-Prevost and Simon Watkins of VPLP in their bid to win the 35th America's Cup.
In addition to the VPLP guys, Artemis Racing also announced British electronics engineer Matthew Davis and Argentine aero designer Juan Garay will also join their design team.
Does Oracle have something to worry about this time around? If you are even remotely familiar with these guys the answer is, you betcha!

Charles Kantor - Multihull Surveyor pioneer!
Before the multihulls got popular, Capt. Chuck had been surveying them. He's since retired but remains in scene as a wealth of information for anyone wanting a serious cruiser's opinion. Check out any of his books and you're sure to learn a thing or two!
Here he is visiting our Outremer 5X at the Miami Boat Show. What a nice treat to see him again!

Miami Boat Show Wrap Up
Last day of the Miami Boat Show. Many serious lookers ready to take the plunge. Concensus is from those who've cruised is the only regret they have (if any) is that they would have done it sooner.
You will find many friends while cruising and the cat people all gravitate towards each other! Just get out there and enjoy what life has to offer...

Miami Boat Show
Got to speak to Gino Morrelli of Morrelli & Melvin Design. Way cool. I could almost see his wheels spinning when he was at the tiller steering on the Outremer 5X. I wouldn't be surprised if tiller steering makes it to one of his new designs! It is a pretty darn cool feature...

Cruiser Murdered in St. Lucia
It has been reported that the British couple in their 60s were in St. Lucia for 3 weeks, moored in Fort Vieux (an industrial town in St. Lucia) and were about to depart to Bequia. The retired financial consultants were halfway through a planned six-month sailing trip. Days before the killing, the wife had written a blog about how blissfully happy she was as they celebrated her 60th birthday.
In order to support Mrs. Margaret Pratt, I propose we ban visiting St. Lucia until there is justice served. I feel it is the least we can do to apply some pressure for a resolution. It may not bring him back but it is the least we can do... I love St. Lucia but seeing this man and how much he loved his wife and the cruising life makes my heart heavy. Please let me know if you agree or disagree to BAN ST. LUCIA until justice is served...
May he rest in peace.
